Importance of Hand Washing station

  1. We need it to maintain personal hygiene
  2. Sometimes we handle food with our bare hands, if our hands are not clean, harmful microorganisms will contaminate the food.
  3. To prevent cross-contamination
  4. Can also be used to treat small burns or to wash away blood from cuts.
    • this will allow normal flora like Staphylococcus aureus to be washed onto the surfaces of the sinks, thus contaminating it. If we do not clean the sink often, it might accumulate and contaminate the food that is placed inside afterwards.

-The sink is one of the most frequently used equipments in a kitchen
-As a result waste accumulates on surface of sink
-Sinks are wet for the most part of the day thus making it a heaven for germs
