Ventilation

How to clean hoods
-Range hoods use a filter to collect dirt
-Dirt includes; dust/grease
-Overtime and frequent use of range will cause dirt to be caked onto hood
-This is both unclean and gross to look at.

 Steps involved in cleaning hood:
  1. Switch off range
  2. Take a large container/bucket used in cleaning
  3. Fill it with a degreaser
  4. Soak filter inside it for 30 mins
  5. Wash with cool water then with dishwashing liquid and rinse again
  6. With a pair of rubber gloves and a rubber/plastic spatula scrape off grease from hood
  7. Squeeze degreaser onto damp cloth and use it to wipe hood
  8. For remaing grease that has remained resistant to previously mentioned steps use a paste of baking soda and water to remove.
  9. Dip a cloth into hot, soapy water and use the paste to scrub off the dirt.
  10. Use a clean cloth and hot water to rub away baking soda
  11. You now have a sparkly clean hood!

  1. Very informative but this is just one part of the kitchen. Maybe you should elaborate more on the kitchen as a whole?

  2. Liyee: Good information as ventilation is where bacteria would be carried around, thus keeping it clean is a must.
